Job Description

Position Title: Project Coordinator

Location: Baltimore, MD (Serving MD, D.C., and Northern VA)

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

ZaphyrRecruit is actively seeking an ambitious, detail-driven Project Coordinator on behalf of one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s leading, woman-owned turnkey construction companies.

Our client specializes in complete Turnkey Specialty Subcontracting Solutions—delivering end-to-end scope management across Division 6 (Finish Carpentry), Division 8 (Doors, Frames & Hardware), and Division 10 (Specialty Products) for major mid-to-large-scale multifamily construction developments across Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia.

This role serves as a vital operational driver from contract award through project closeout. It offers direct exposure to complex commercial builds, a fast-track pathway into full Project Management, and high performance-based earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

As a Project Coordinator, you will partner directly with Project Managers, General Contractors, vendors, and field installation crews to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Turnkey Scope Management: Assist in coordinating submittals, material procurement, lead-time tracking, and delivery logistics to safeguard project schedules.
  • Stakeholder Bridge: Serve as a central communication node connecting General Contractors, architects, specialty suppliers, and field installation teams.
  • Blueprint & Specification Analysis: Read and interpret construction drawings, architectural plans, hardware schedules, and contractual scopes of work.
  • Field & Trade Support: Provide daily operational support to field crews and subcontractors, identifying and resolving jobsite challenges proactively.
  • Project Administration & Closeout: Maintain meticulous project documentation, process submittals, track change orders, and drive project closeout activities.

Candidate Qualifications

Required

  • High level of attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong willingness and ability to master industry tools such as Bluebeam and digital plan-reading software.
  • High integrity, strong work ethic, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or coursework in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of internship or hands-on experience within a construction, subcontracting, or project management environment.
  • Familiarity with reading architectural construction drawings and project schedules.
  • Prior exposure to commercial doors, architectural hardware, finish carpentry, or multifamily trades is a strong plus.
